Step Back in Time at Gold Rush Days

Step Back in Time at Gold Rush Days

Gold Rush Days used to be one of my absolute favorite events in Buena Vista — and it still holds a special place in my heart. As a historian, I love any excuse to step back in time, and this festival delivers that immersive experience. We would spend the whole weekend soaking in the stories of the past, playing at the festival, and watching Dylan get into a good old-fashioned (and very theatrical!) sword fight at one of the booths.

Gold Rush Days brings history to life through interactive exhibits, heritage reenactments, storytelling, and hands-on experiences for all ages. This isn’t just a festival — it’s a celebration of the full story of this land, from ancient times and Indigenous traditions to the booming days of mining and beyond.

What’s New This Year?
This year, Gold Rush Days joins forces with Colorado’s largest outdoor Gem and Mineral Show to dig even deeper into the region’s sparkling history. Explore a massive selection of treasures from over 100 expert vendors, and maybe even take home a gem of your own.
