Here’s a fun question for you: Are you team “Wait until October to decorate for Halloween” or team “Stretch it out and make it a whole season so you get the most bang for your buck”?

If you had asked me a year ago, I would’ve said neither. Truth be told, I was never a huge Halloween girl. It just wasn’t my favorite holiday, and I never decorated for it. My acknowledgment of Halloween stopped at one evening of taking Grayson trick-or-treating. But those nights out with her were some of my absolute favorite memories. I loved picking out costumes, walking the neighborhood together, and seeing the joy on her face. That was the part of Halloween I always looked forward to most.

But this year is different. Blippi’s Halloween playlist has been echoing through our house since July, and the most requested car ride song is none other than “Monster Mash.” (Let’s just say my Spotify Wrapped is going to look very different this year!)

And then there’s the pure joy I’ve seen in the faces of three little boys when my mom FaceTimes to show them her Halloween decorations. Weekly check-ins with the Mudpie broom that moves? A household event. Their excitement is contagious, and it has me seeing Halloween in a brand-new light.

It makes me wonder—why is it that when the people we love find joy in something, suddenly we start to love it too? Maybe that’s what the season is all about: looking past our own preferences and leaning into the joy we see reflected in others.

So now I want to know—where do you land? Do you hold out until October, or do you believe Halloween deserves a whole season of its own?

Either way, The View is ready to help you get into the spirit! From spooky-fun Mudpie décor (yes, including the broom that moves 👻) to cozy fall favorites, we’ve filled the shelves with little touches that bring out the joy of the season.
This weekend I’ll be heading to Buena Vista for Labor Day and, of course, doing a little shopping at The View. I already have my eye on some must-haves to bring home:

And if I had the space (and the bravery 😅), I’d love to add the Halloween Inflatable House Entrance – the ultimate statement piece to welcome trick-or-treaters!

I can already picture these finds bringing a little extra magic (and maybe a little spook) to our home this fall. If you’re looking to start or add to your own Halloween collection, now is the perfect time to stop by and see what makes you smile.
Boo!
