This week, I’m shining a warm light on one of my favorite home essentials: candles! There’s something magical about the way a candle can completely transform a room. The moment I step through my front door, I reach for a match and start lighting candles all over my house. It’s a ritual that brings me so much joy and comfort, instantly making every space feel brighter, cozier, and more inviting.
Candles have always held a special place in my heart, thanks to my mom. Growing up, every room in our house had at least one candle burning, filling our home with beautiful scents and a warm glow. My parents even have a fun little tradition of counting how many candles are lit before bed to ensure every one of them gets blown out. It’s a small but meaningful habit that I’ve carried into my own home.
Right now, I’m burning two of the incredible Wicked Candles, a collaboration with Voluspa. In my kitchen, the Glinda scent is adding a sweet, airy freshness, while Elphaba’s deeper, earthier notes bring a calming vibe to my bathroom. These candles are not only beautifully scented but also gorgeously designed, making them perfect for gifting or indulging yourself. My love for Wicked runs deep—I’ve seen it twice on stage and now watch it almost every morning while getting ready. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement! I couldn’t think of a better way to bring in the new year than by burning these candles for the first time on New Year’s Eve while watching Wicked. It was the perfect way to set the tone for 2025!
But that’s not all! I’m thrilled about the new winter candles arriving soon at The View Cafe & Gifts from R Rebellion. I’m particularly excited to smell Cadillac Cowgirl, which even comes with a matching perfume. How perfect would it be to wear that scent today as I head off to the stock show? This will be my first time ever going to a stock show, and I’m so excited! That said, I’m also a little terrified because I’m extremely allergic to horses. I’m armed with high-strength Benadryl and hoping for the best. I absolutely love all farm animals, but Highland Cattle are my favorite, and I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll get to see some!
